Best Hua Hin Golf Courses
Hua Hin, which is located just over a 2 hour drive away from Bangkok, was Thailand’s original beach resort destination. Being situated so close to Bangkok, Hua Hin combines with the capital of Thailand, to make a great double centre, golfing holiday. There are a number of great golf courses to choose from in the Hua Hin area, with Black Mountain being perhaps the pick of the bunch.
Black Mountain was created on an original jungle and pineapple plantation and was designed by Phil Ryan, in 2007. The golf course maintains much of the natural features in the area, including original trees, creeks and black granite rock. The first European Tour event to be staged in Thailand, the Thailand Classic, was hosted by Black Mountain in 2014 and has since become a regular event on the European and Asian Tour. The greens are large and well protected, with fairways being generous for shorter hitters but becoming narrower for those who strike the ball longer. The course is kept in great playing condition throughout the year and the signature 11th hole is stunning, with an island green.
Why not make the most of your time in the Hua Hin area and having completed a round or two at Black Mountain, head over to Banyan Golf Club, which is just 5 kilometres south of the town? This course was established in 2008 and was presented with the Best New Course in Asia Pacific Award, in 2009, as voted by readers of Asian Golf Monthly. Banyan is a world class, 18-hole championship golf course and is known for providing tremendous views of the mountains and ocean, from every hole. There are six tee boxes on each hole, making Banyan perfect for players of all abilities and well placed water hazards and bunkers, make shot placement key. The putting surfaces and fairways are well maintained all year-round and Banyan is a great choice, for golfers of all levels in your group.
Finally, why not try the Springfield Royal Country Club, offering a course designed by the great Jack Nicklaus? Continually ranked as one of the best golf courses in Hua Hin, Springfield features plenty of water hazards, making shot accuracy vital for a good round. The majority of greens are well protected and large waste bunkers come into play on a number of holes. Springfield is certainly an enjoyable test, for golfers of all standards.
These are three of the best Hua Hin golf courses available but don’t just take out word for it, get out there and enjoy them for yourself.
